Emily Bernet is a native of Dallas, Texas and a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BFA in dance performance and minor in arts management. Emily began her dance training at Janie Christy’s School of Dance and Dance Industry Performing Arts Center, and is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She is a founding member of Joshua L. Peugh’s Dark Circles Contemporary Dance USA, performing and touring with the company since 2013. Emily has studied with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and performed in works by Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Joost Vrouenraets, Ohad Naharin, Mike Esperanza, Dwight Rhoden, Takehiro Ueyama, and Larry Keigwin, among others. Emily has choreographed her own works for Booker T. Washington and Southern Methodist University, and continues to choreograph in the Dallas area.
