Audition Guidelines
Dancers must be entering the 4th grade or higher for the 2026-27 school year.
Dancers should wear the following:
A black, tight-fitting top, black leggings, and half shoes
Hair in a neat ponytail with the sides slicked back
Dancers may substitute a black leotard for the black top, or wear tan tights (with or without booty shorts on top) instead of black leggings.
Light make-up is encouraged for this audition (eyeliner, mascara, blush, lipstick/gloss).
Please plan to warm up and stretch before the audition as a warm-up will not be taught.
Be ready to show tumbling if you have experience.
Audition Materials
Dancers should learn the routine for the grade they will be entering or the 2026-2027 year. Our company director will review the routines at the beginning of the audition and answer any questions.
If some of the skills in the routines are too difficult, feel free to substitute something you feel confident doing (like doing a pirouette instead of turns in second, doing an X-jump instead of a Russian, etc.) or stand still for that portion of the choreography. We would rather see a clean performance than dancers attempting skills that they cannot do safely.
Dancers entering the 7th through 9th grades will also be asked to demonstrate switch leaps across the floor.
4th - 6th Grade
7th - 9th Grade
Drill Company Requirements
Drill Company members are required to be enrolled in their weekly company class, as well as one Jazz class at the appropriate level. Company members are highly encouraged to enroll in an additional Ballet or Drill Skills class to work on their all-around dance technique.
Regular class attendance is mandatory and strictly enforced. The office should be notified via email every time a student has a conflict with class and will be absent or late.
Attire and appearance for all classes must be professional and clean.
In addition to their spring competitions, dancers are required to participate in our NorthPark Christmas performance, Teamwork Concert, and PCD Spring Recital. All performances and competitions are mandatory.
More information about company policies will be shared in the invitation letter for the company. Any questions about these policies, including tuition and fees, may be directed to the PCD office.
