Lydia Fuhrmann

Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Lydia Fuhrmann began her dance education at age four and began to train more seriously in 2019 when she became a trainee with Next Generation Ballet. While at NGB, Lydia studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and precision dance. There, she had the opportunity to perform alongside many renowned guest artists from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and Miami City Ballet in multiple productions at the David A. Straz Center. After graduating in 2023, Lydia moved to join the trainee program with Oklahoma City Ballet, where she had the opportunity to choreograph as part of the Bridge Choreography Initiative. She created her first piece in 2022 during her time at Chautauqua Institution's summer intensive. Lydia has also attended summer programs with Miami City Ballet, Charlotte Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and The Florida Ballet.

In 2024, Lydia moved to Dallas to begin her professional dance journey with Ballet North Texas, the company she currently performs with. Some highlights from her career include performing as Dewdrop in The Nutcracker and the principal role in Frequency 434. She has also enjoyed dancing in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barrocco and learning other repertoire from Balanchine and Anthony Tudor. Lydia also worked with Athletic Advantage Physical Therapy in 2025 and is very knowledgeable in injury prevention and recovery.

Lydia is passionate about educating young dancers in a way that builds their confidence, artistry, and musicality. She hopes to inspire the next generation to love and appreciate the wonderful art form of dance while instilling them with a solid technical foundation.
